In this session we will paint a still life with plums, working with deep, saturated tones and subtle transitions within a dark palette. This subject allows us to explore how light behaves on glossy surfaces, how reflections define form, and how to avoid flat black by building colour through layers. Particular attention will be given to contrast, reflected light, and the structure of rounded forms, helping you create a sense of depth and volume in darker compositions. The presence of glass introduces additional reflections and colour interactions that enrich the overall painting. The class is suitable for beginners as well as returning students.
