In this session, we will paint a still life featuring a branch of tomatoes and a handful of olives, using the composition to explore the relationship between two intense colour fields — red and black. Special attention will be given to working with black paint, not as a flat or neutral tone, but as a colour that absorbs and reflects surrounding hues. We will study how black changes depending on light, neighbouring colours, and surface texture, and how it can enrich the overall palette rather than dull it. The class is suitable for beginners and returning students. You’ll receive step-by-step guidance and individual feedback throughout the session.
