16 December , «Festive Snowberries» Oil Painting Session

In this festive oil painting session, we will create a winter still life featuring branches of snowberries (Symphoricarpos albus) arranged in a dark vase.
Our main challenge will be painting white — a colour that is rarely truly white in nature. We will explore how subtle variations of warm and cool tones give the snowberries their rounded form, while muted greens and deep shadows bring richness to the composition.
Particular attention will be given to the delicate structure of the branches, the rhythm of the berries and the contrast between their soft, matte surfaces and the dark, reflective vase. We will also practise simplifying complex natural forms without losing their character.

The session is suitable for beginners and returning students alike, with step-by-step guidance and individual feedback from professional artist Andrey Novikov.
