"Founders" is a meditation on the invisible yet enduring forces that shape our world. Two grand sculptural figures, inspired by classical traditions yet infused with a surreal sensibility, support the weight of a bridge—a structure of connection, passage, and transformation. Their expressions remain serene, as if unaware of the significance of their role, embodying the paradox of effortlessness and immense responsibility. This work forms a bridge between my Fog and Civilization series, both of which explore how ideas and cultures transcend time. It reflects on the origins of great intellectual and artistic breakthroughs—how simple inspirations, like Newton’s falling apple, can spark monumental shifts in human understanding. The depth of oil on canvas allows for a rich interplay of light, shadow, and tone, lending the work a timeless, almost sculptural quality. Each layer of paint is carefully built up to create an atmosphere of quiet grandeur, where past and future intersect. Through Founders, I invite the viewer to contemplate the unseen foundations upon which civilizations, knowledge, and creativity rest.
